Three arrested in possession of illicit brew, narcotics after crackdown in two counties

Three suspects have been arrested during a crackdown in Garissa and Tharaka-Nithi counties in connection with possession of illicit brews and narcotics.
The National Police Service (NPS) reported that officers recovered 160 litres of illicit brew during the raid and 39 packages of suspected bhang.
In Tharaka-Nithi, two suspects were arrested and 160 litres of illicit brew locally known as Mugacha was recovered.
The two suspects were placed in police custody pending arraignment and the illicit brew was secured as exhibit.
Meanwhile, in Garissa a raid resulted in the arrest of one suspect who was found in possession of 39 packages of suspected bhang.
The suspect is held in police custody awaiting arraignment.
This comes amid a nationwide crackdown on the sale and distribution of contraband goods spearheaded by the national securtiy agencies in a bid to stop the vice.
