Sarah Wairimu Cohen, the widow of the late Tob Cohen, will remain in custody as the High Court has scheduled a new hearing date for June 4, 2025, to allow the State time to file affidavits in response to her bail application.

Her defense team, led by Conrad Maloba, argued for her release on bail, emphasizing her willingness to stand trial and the court's earlier determination that she is not a flight risk.

However, the court had previously denied her bail in February 2025, with Justice Diana Kavedza ruling that Wairimu would stay at Lang'ata Women’s Prison until two key prosecution witnesses had testified, citing concerns over potential witness intimidation and interference.
