Two children killed in house fire in Nyeri County

Two children, aged 3 and 6, died on Friday after a fire engulfed their home in Gathunuka village in Nyeri County.

According to local reports, the children were alone in the house at the time of the incident. Their parent had left for work and returned to find the home consumed by flames.

Authorities have launched investigations to determine what may have sparked the fatal blaze, whose cause remains unknown.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the fire had already destroyed much of the house.

The bodies of the two children were taken to the Nyeri County Referral Hospital morgue.
