Two killed, several injured in Meru-Chuka road accident

Two people died while several others were injured in two separate road accidents near River Maara on the Meru -Chuka road.

The driver of a bus belonging to Joy Kenya Sacco lost control of the vehicle and hit people who were standing by the road side killing one person.

Confirming the accident, Maara OCPD said the brakes of the bus, which was carrying 41 passengers, failed. The injured were taken to Chogoria Mission Hospital.

In the second incident, the driver of a lorry that was heading to Meru from Chuka lost control of the vehicle near the River Maara hitting two people who were helping out victims of the first accident.

Twelve people sustained injuries and were taken to Chuka Referral Hospital
