Woman hospitalized after ruthless beating by husband

A 24-year-old woman is fighting for her life at the Narok County Referral Hospital after she was struck ten times on the head with a blunt object by her husband.

The couple is said to have engaged in a fight after arriving at their Mpopongi village past midnight drunk.

According to the victim identified as Esther Nashipae, admitted  that she was drunk, and upon arriving home, her husband, Gideon Omondi, told her to leave, something that forced her to seek refuge at a nearby video hall.

He allegedly followed her there, armed with a blunt object, and ruthlessly beat her.

Angela Kipai, a medical social worker at the facility, decried that gender violence cases were on the rise with alcoholism being the main cause.

The man has since been arrested and will be arraigned in court.
