WRC: Vivo Energy to sponsor seven drivers in historic feat

The WRC Safari Rally will take place from 12 to 15 March 2026 in Naivasha, bringing together elite competitors from across the world.
The drivers include Tinashe Gatimu and Caroline Gatimu, Rajveer Thethy and Laban Cliff Onserio, Lisa Christoffersen and Christabel Wacuka, Neel Gohil and Wayne Fernandez, Michuki Hinga and Mwangi Kioni, Ishmael Azeli and John Ngugi, as well as Suleiman Munyua.
The drivers will represent comoany in both the Shell Autocross series and the prestigious WRC Safari Rally, where their performance, endurance, and consistency will be tested.
This is a rare opportunity for the drivers as they will be provided be have an opportunity provide to sharpen their skills, gain valuable competitive experience, and showcase their talent on both local and international stages.
During the official unveiling of the sponsorship at Shell Northview station along Thika Road, Mr. Patrick Masinde, Vivo Energy Kenya Retail Manager, highlighted the company’s long-term vision.
He explained that the initiative aligns with Shell’s commitment to creating sustainable value within the communities it serves.
According to him, investing in these drivers is part of a broader strategy to nurture Kenyan talent and help athletes compete at the highest levels of motorsport.
“This sponsorship aligns with our commitment of creating long-term value for our communities.
"By investing in these drivers, we are supporting and nurturing Kenya’s finest talent to rise and compete on the global stage,” he said.
In addition to driver sponsorship, Shell is also the title sponsor of the upcoming Motorsports Excellence Awards.
