AfroQuality, a pan-African retail and distribution platform, has officially launched in Nairobi, positioning Kenya as a key hub in its mission to scale African brands across the continent and beyond.

The company, founded by Saint Hilary Doe-Tamakloe and former Sendy co-founder and CTO Evanson Biwott, unveiled its concept store in Nairobi alongside new outlets in Accra and Kigali, marking the start of its strategy to build “distribution rails” for African products.

The platform is beginning with fashion and lifestyle goods, before expanding into premium categories such as homeware, design, and wellness.

By choosing Nairobi as an anchor city, AfroQuality is tapping into East Africa’s fastest-growing consumer market and leveraging Kenya’s role as a regional trade and logistics hub.

The company says this positioning is crucial to connecting local artisans, designers, and manufacturers with buyers across Africa and in global diaspora markets.

“This is more than retail — it’s infrastructure. Launching in Nairobi allows us to plug into a vibrant consumer economy and the AfCFTA vision of seamless African trade, giving Kenyan brands a platform to scale across borders” said Doe-Tamakloe

AfroQuality’s long-term ambition is to expand to at least 15 African cities and five global diaspora hubs by 2030.

Its model combines physical stores with a technology backbone for product verification, logistics, and cross-border trade — addressing the barriers that often prevent African brands from accessing wider markets.

With Africa’s consumer spending projected to hit US$2.1 trillion by 2030, and discretionary sectors such as fashion and lifestyle valued at US$150–200 billion, AfroQuality says Nairobi is well-placed to become a launchpad for regional and global African brands.
