Chandaria bets Sh5bn on Tatu plant

Chandaria Industries is set build a new manufacturing plant at the Tatu  Industrial Park.

The tissue and hygiene product manufactures will invest Sh5 billion on a new manufacturing facility, as more manufactures set up shop at the facility.

Chandaria Industries Chief Executive Officer Darshan Chandaria said the new plant will boost its production capacity to meet rising demand for its products.

“We need a location that provides access to multiple roads to ensure smooth flow of incoming and out coming goods. The lease of this land has been registered under Chandaria industries,” Mr Chandaria said.

Chandaria have wide range of products in their tissue and hygiene portfolio, achieving super brands through brands such as velvex, nice & soft, toilex, and aluminum foil among other products.

Rendevour Country Manager Nick Langford said a third of the industrial park has already been take up by investors, exuding confidence of 100 percent uptake by the end of 2017.

“These businesses represent a significant investment in the Kenyan economy, are some of the largest employers and generate large revenues that power the country’s dynamic growth,” Mr Langford said.
