Chinese home and lifestyle retailer Doud Mart has announced the opening of its first Kenyan outlet at Runda Mall, marking the brand’s entry into the East African market.
The flagship
store, set to begin operations on December 5, 2025, is part of the company’s
wider plan to tap into Kenya’s expanding retail sector.
According to the
firm, the Nairobi outlet will offer a wide range of household and lifestyle
products including furniture, décor, lighting, kitchenware, children’s toys,
and personal care items.
Doud Mart says the
store is designed as a one-stop shopping destination for modern households,
with dedicated sections spanning home and living, kitchen and dining, and
family and personal care.
"We are
thrilled to officially introduce the Doud Mart brand to the Kenyan market. Our
launch in Runda Mall is a strategic milestone that reflects our confidence in
Kenya's economic potential and evolving consumer landscape,” said Enoch
Abukuse.
“We are not merely
opening a store; we are establishing a destination for discovery, offering
clever, well-designed products that simplify and enhance daily life. We look
forward to building strong relationships with the Nairobi community and serving
Kenyan families for years to come.”
The company says
its choice of Runda Mall aligns with its strategy to position itself as a
premium but accessible brand. The retailer expects the outlet to create jobs
and contribute to activity within the local retail sector.
Doud Mart, which
specialises in home goods, lifestyle products and everyday essentials, says the
Kenyan launch forms part of its ongoing global expansion strategy.
