Fintech Association of Kenya appoints Harvard-educated expert to its advisory board

Currently the Managing Director at MDP-Africa, Molla will be bringing over two decades of experience in banking and fintech, including roles at Absa Bank, MasterCard and American Express, where he supported operations and expansion across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

"His insights will be invaluable as we drive growth, foster international partnerships, and create a conducive environment for fintech innovation in Kenya," Motanya said.

A seasoned payments executive with over two decades of experience transforming the financial services industry in Africa and beyond, Molla's appointment is part of the association's broader effort to foster an environment where innovation thrives and to enhance the profile and advocacy efforts of the fintech community in Kenya.

On his appointment, Molla said: "“It’s an honor, to join the industry-shaping & recognized Fintech Association of Kenya. I will actively contribute to its success through thought leadership, advocacy, meaningful financial wellness and sustainability initiatives together with other payments leaders from Africa."

Passionate about leveraging technology for financial inclusion, Molla says he is committed to bridging the gap between real-world needs and digital solutions.

He is both a Harvard and Strathmore Business School Executive Education graduate.
