Kenya, China seal MoU to deepen industrial cooperation at KIIE 2025

The MoU will strengthen cooperation in knowledge sharing, trade facilitation, and industrial research, setting the stage for joint ventures and technology transfer.

KNCCI CEO Kenneth Mutai said the deal comes at a critical time for Kenya’s industrialisation drive. 

“Manufacturing contributes just 7.6% to our GDP, yet research shows a 1% increase in output creates over 200,000 jobs. This partnership with China will help us scale up industrial growth and empower SMEs,” he said.

 “This MoU reflects our shared vision of building stable supply chains and supporting Kenya’s industrial transformation. Chinese enterprises are ready to invest and integrate with local industries,” said CCCME Vice President Shi Yonghong.

Afripeak Expo Kenya Managing Director Gao Wei, the official organizer, emphasized the expo’s role in linking businesses.

 “The Kenya International Industrial Expo is more than an exhibition; it is a platform for innovation and partnership. This MoU signals the start of a new phase where global solutions meet Africa’s opportunities,” Gao said.

The three-day expo, which runs until September 6 at the Sarit Expo Centre, has attracted over 200 Chinese exhibitors and more than 6,000 delegates from across the world, showcasing technologies in construction, energy, ICT, automotive, textiles, and agriculture.
