Kenya Power restores token purchase system

Kenya Power has restored its prepaid system and customers are now able to purchase electricity tokens.

“We are glad to inform you that the prepaid system hitch has been resolved, and customers can now purchase electricity tokens. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the power provider said in a statement.

Kenya Power customers were unable to purchase electricity tokens on Thursday morning using the utility’s prepaid system due to what it termed as a hitch.

 “We are experiencing a hitch in the prepaid system, which is affecting the generation of electricity tokens. We are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible,” it said in a statement then.
