The Kenya Blockchain and Crypto Conference (KBCC) 2025, is set to be hosted at the A.S.K Dome in Nairobi from June 12–13.

The two-day event is powered by Binance and expects over 1,500 participants from across the continent, including regulators, fintechs, developers, startups, and global tech players.

KBCC 2025 comes amid a regulatory shift in Kenya. The Finance Bill 2025 proposes cutting the Digital Asset Tax from 3% to 1.5%, while the Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP) Bill is now before Parliament. If passed, the VASP Bill will create a regulatory framework for digital asset businesses, covering licensing, consumer protection, and anti-money laundering.

“This year’s event couldn’t be timelier. We’re focusing on education and engagement to drive adoption and innovation” said Sheila Waswa, CEO of Chasing Mavericks and Events Lead for KBCC 2025.

Day one will focus on policy, institutional adoption, and blockchain’s practical application in sectors like finance and trade. Day two will shift to Web3 development, featuring a developer track for 800+ tech builders and a startup showcase for 100 early-stage founders.

Notable speakers will include Saruni Maina of Binance, Tim Theuri of M-Pesa Africa, Nickson Omondi from KRA, Andrew Masila of Safaricom, and Nathaniel Luz, President of the Africa Stablecoin Network.

“Binance is proud to support KBCC in unlocking Africa’s blockchain potential,” said Binance spokesperson Larry Cooke.

Corporate backers include Bitget, Sumsub, Busha, Tether, Telcoin, Base, Bybit, Kotani Pay, MexC, and Lisk DAO, while strategic partners include the Association of Fintechs in Kenya and the Digital Financial Services Association of Kenya (DFSAK).
