Should I charge my phone battery to 100%?

A phone battery should have a life span of three to five years but frequent or extended charging is said to have damaging effects.
According to Tech Advisor, a British computer magazine, how you use your phone determines how long your battery will last.
From the number of apps installed, to customization and notifications; all these can drain the phone battery faster than normal.
The tech publication cautions against letting a phone battery go below 20%.
Phone users are also advised to unplug the device from the charger before it hits 100%. Why?
“….giving it a full recharge every time you charge it will shorten its lifespan,” Tech Advisor says.
Experts say that if you have to charge it from zero to 100%, ensure this is only done once a month.
“It recalibrates the battery, which is a bit like restarting your computer.”
The golden rule is to always keep the phone charge between 50-90% most of the time.
Charging it overnight is also a no-no because of overheating.
However, most modern smartphones have built-in sensors that automatically stop the charging process once it hits 100%.
