Kenyan learners are set to benefit from a new program that will expand opportunities for ambitious, high-potential students worldwide to earn a degree and seamlessly transition into careers in Germany.
This is after Nexford University and Constructor University launched a hybrid degree pathway, which will give opportunity to Kenyan learners to begin their undergraduate or postgraduate studies online with Nexford University and later transition to on-campus learning at Constructor University in Bremen, Germany.
According to Nexford University CEO Fadl Al Tarzi, this will be a game-changer for Kenyan learners who want to access global education and career opportunities without facing the high upfront costs of moving abroad,
“With this pathway, students can start their journey from home, save on living costs, and transition to Germany when they're ready,” Al Tarzi said.
The partnership offers an accessible and affordable academic pathway to earning a degree while also unlocking work and residence opportunities in Europe.
The learning journey begins at Nexford, where students can complete up to 50% of their degree program through the 100% online university. They then transfer to Constructor University’s campus in Bremen to finish their program, gaining in-person international experience and direct access to Europe’s job market.
Graduate students may also pursue a dual-degree option, with select courses recognised by both institutions, maximising both value and employability.
The program is welcome as Kenya and Germany signed an agreement in 2024, considering Germany's skilled labour demand and Kenya's potential to meet it.
According to recent studies, Germany alone is projected to face a shortage of over 7 million skilled workers by 2035. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields are particularly hard-hit, with over 209,000 positions currently unfilled.
Students who complete their degrees at Constructor University are eligible for Germany’s 18-month post-study work visa, making it easier to secure employment across Europe.
Learners transitioning from Nexford to Constructor will automatically be considered for partial scholarships, with some eligible for deferred tuition payment options. This model ensures financial accessibility while maintaining high academic quality and career outcomes.
By leveraging technology, Nexford University delivers education at a fraction of the cost of traditional universities. Its programs are future-focused and workplace-aligned, enabling learners to build practical skills they will use to get ahead in their careers.
Founded in 2001, Constructor University is an English-language, private university, with a campus in Bremen, Germany. With its interdisciplinary approach, advanced digital learning tools and accredited programs, it equips students with fundamental knowledge, critical thinking and practical skills to build their professional career and address the world’s most pressing challenges.
