Rapper Octopizzo has waded into the
Khaligraph Jones versus Tanzanian rappers controversy, calling out the Kenyan
rapper and claiming that his antics are actually nothing more than a “cry for
help.”
While sharing his unfiltered sentiments on
the X social platform, the normally-private Octopizzo blasted Khaligraph for kicking up a rap
storm which he claimed was aimed at boosting his relevance.
"Kenyan rapper still desperate for
validation and clout 10 yrs later. Picking fight with everyone to stay afloat
& relevant. Sad indeed!" he tweeted.
Octo, a sworn Khaligraph enemy, went on wish
that the latter would “heal” from what he was supposedly going through.
"Hope you heal from what you going
through coz it’s showing in a different way...That’s not hiphop that’s cry for
help!" he added.
A few days ago, in his usual cocky fashion,
Papa Jones took to Instagram to invite Tanzanian rappers to a battle, asking
them to step in the booth and show their worth - or face his lyrical wrath.
"Tanzanians, your rappers have 24 hours
to respond,” Khaligraph declared.
“Failure to which I will launch an attack and
I will take over the whole Tanzanian music industry and become the best rapper
in Tanzania, just like I am the best rapper in Nigeria and Kenya!"
As emotions boiled and tempers flared, Khali
doubled down on his remarks, daring his Tanzanian contemporaries to hit the
studio and record diss tracks.
"TZ rap was dead except for Lunya and a
few others record diss tracks before niattack na msijibu na amapiano,"
Khaligraph Jones boldly stated.
Reactions from Bongo Land poured in quick and
fast, starting from Konde Gang honcho Harmonize, who denounced Khaligraph’s
remarks as a tasteless form of disrespect toward Tanzanian rappers and their
artistic endeavors.
Other Tanzanian rappers too, led by female
rapper Rosa Ree have also responded, with one even daring Papa Jones to travel
to Tanzania for a boxing face-off.
Over the years, Khaligraph and Octopizzo have
never hidden their disdain for each other.
In countless interviews, both have blasted
each other, degraded each other's music and claimed to be better than the
other.
A week ago, Octopizzo again blasted
Khaligraph, warning him that soon, he would face his wrath.
"Naskia bado kuna fala flani aja Acha
kunitaja taja kwa ma interview… Unachokitafta utakipata very soon. Kunja kunja
mdomo hio side ingine nani. Acha nimalizane na waterfalls kwanza,"
Octopizzo wrote.
This came after Khaligraph addressed his long
running beef with the Kibera-born rapper, saying that, even though Octopizzo
seems to have always hated him, he will always respect his hustle.
"Hanipendagi...huyu boyz hajai nipenda,
niliona kwa interview akisema hapendi vile navaa but I understand him juu hata
mimi ningekuwa yeye singependa Khaligraph," stated ‘Omollo.’
