The recently released trailer of the documentary posted by Janet on her Instagram page, shows her talking more about her life as a Jackson, the struggles she went through, while also featuring her brother and pop legend Michael Jackson particularly focusing on child sexual abuse allegations leveled against him.
"There's a great deal of scrutiny that comes with having that last name," Janet said in the short trailer referring to the backlash that she and her family have gotten over the last years.
According to the pop star, the 2005 child sexual abuse allegations against her brother Michael significantly affected her career.
"Yeah, Guilty by association. I guess that's what they call it, right?" said Janet
Michael Jackson has had several allegations of child sexual abuse with the most recent one happening in 2009 after the pop legend’s death.
A 2019 documentary dubbed ‘leaving neverland’ features the two accusers talking about their alleged experience.
Janet Jackson and the entire Jackson family have however stood by Michael Jackson and maintained his innocence.
The short trailer also features a controversial scandal that happened while Janet and Justin Timberlake were performing at the 2004 Superbowl halftime show.
While performing, Justin Timberlake exposed for a fraction of a second, Janet’s nipples to millions of people who were watching the show.
Janet’s career came tumbling down after this incident.
“They build you up, and then once you get there, they're so quick to tear you down." Said Janet before the Superbowl incident was featured on the trailer.
The documentary is set to premiere on January 28.
