Gospel singer Bahati has responded to claims that the expensive gifts he has given his wife Diana Marua over the years, including most recently on this year's Valentine’s Day, are not real but just meant to maintain the spotlight on them.
Bahati
confirmed to naysayers, in an Instagram post on Thursday, that he is indeed
blessed despite his humble ghetto background.
He
acknowledged that he was raised from poverty to glory and prayed for his fans
to also receive the same blessings.
“To
those who are doubting that God can bless a poor boy from the slums let me
confirm this; yes "I am a boy from Mathare slums " and to those that
believe God can raise a man from poverty to glory "may God do it for you
too in Jesus name" the God who raised me is faithful to bless anyone,”
wrote Bahati.
Diana
Marua responded under Bahati's message by encouraging Bahati to prove critics wrong.
"Amen
my baby!!! Prove them wrong. From to grace, you are highly favoured,"
wrote Diana.
The
house was among a series of gifts that the ‘Adhiambo’ singer had lined up for
his wife during the month of love, coming just days after he gifted her a
Toyota Land cruiser Prado TX worth around Ksh.10 million.
Kenyans
on social media were having a hard time believing that the gifts were real,
with most of them flooding the celebrity's Instagram posts with comments.
One
Twitter user said, ”I just look at Diana and Bahati and I realize that clout is
a dangerous disease.”
“Bahati has bought Diana Marua a fully furnished house barely days after he gifted her a new Land Cruiser Prado TX. It is either music is paying or they have upped their clout chasing game,” said user @osorojnr_.
