Bahati responds to Butita's allegations on stealing his 'Cook and Reveal' show

Eddie Butita first made the allegation during an interview with Mwende Macharia of Radio Maisha.

In the interview, Butita said he came up with the idea of ‘Cook and Reveal’ and even thought of Bahati’s wife, Diana Marua as the perfect host for the job.

However, after the first few episodes, The Bahati family decided to sell the show without consulting with Butita.

Butita said “Uyo siwezi, mwizi ule, aliniibia kipindi kizuri sana. Mi nikatengeneza kipindi kizuri sana, kinaitwa Cook and Reveal, nikakipanga vizuri, nikaambia mpaka client Fulani, naona Diana anaeza kauza hii kipindi vizuri. Tukamweka pale, tukapata deal, kipindi kikaenda episodes kadhaa, tukakimaliza kipindi maanake mkataba wa yule client wa kufund kipindi ulikuwa umeisha.”“Naamka asubuhi Napata kipindi kimeuzwa kwa mdhamini mwingine ambaye sikuhusishwa. 

“I was the creator, from the name from the concept of real stories. So walienda wakauza na kudhaminiwa pesa mingi sana of which sijapata pesa yoyote.”

“Nikampigia kama rafiki yangu nikamwambia I still have the rights na ningependa kipindi kiwe kikubwa na akaniambia niende Kortini!” Butita added.

In a short interview with BTG news, Bahati responded to the allegations by saying he knew nothing of the accusations and doesn’t remember doing what Butita accused him of.

Bahati went on to say that the name Bahati is big and people are allowed to trend using the name.

“Unfortunately, I’ve been busy so sijawatch, but I don’t remember doing that. But you know maybe he wants, you know the Bahati’s are the talk of town and I bless god for that and everyone is allowed to trend using our name. So maybe he’s trying to get to a level and trending is not easy.”

Upon being asked if he has ever done any show with Butita, Bahati simply responded “No sijawai.”

In great disbelief, Butita took to a long Instagram post saying in what seemed like a conclusion to the topic that the truth would be revealed in no time.

“Waah @bahatikenya na @diana_marua nawapenda sana am a big fan. I worked with you because I believe in you. You know very well COOK AND REVEAL was created by Eddie Butita under Stage Presence Media. The least you should have said is sorry beacuse it is life watu hukosea and am human mimi husamehea. Lakini unajua niaje, MUNGU ndio hupeana Ideas, zingine zitakam. The truth is like light it can never be hidden it is just a matter of time. All the best.”

The Cook and Reveal show runs on Youtube with Diana Marua doubling up as the host.
