Popular Churchil comedian Jasper Muthomi alias Mc Jessy, has also lined up to join the political arena in 2022 General Elections for the South Imenti parliamentary seat after Ameru elders gave him their blessings.

The master of ceremonies announced on social media that the ceremony took place in his hometown of Meru County over the weekend.

MC Jessy, who described himself as a student and believer in the theory that the best classroom in the world is at an elderly person's feet, said:

“Over the weekend I was grateful and humbled by the Elders that raised me and who are from my Home Constituency of South Imenti when they honored and bestowed on me the blessings and responsibilities to lead South Imenti Constituency as the Member Of Parliament.”

“Our society must make it right and possible for the Elders not to fear the Young or feel deserted by them. The mantle has been passed and each generation must safeguard it and extend it further.”

He quoted Margret Mead, an American cultural anthropologist and writer, in a recent Instagram post of him with the elders.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”

MC Jessy will be hoping  to unseat  Kathuri Murungi who has been Member of Parliament of South Imenti Constituency since March 2013.
