Diamond Platnumz performs at final Azimio rally, endorses Raila for president

Tanzanian singer Naseeb Abdul Juma, popularly known as Diamond Platnumz, on
Saturday jetted into Kenya and made a surprise appearance at the Kasarani stadium
for the final Azimio la Umoja One Kenya campaign rally.
The
Bongo superstar pulled off an electrifying performance at the rally divided in two
sets, each before and after the coalition party presidential candidate Raila
Odinga’s speech.
He
kicked things off by performing his 2019 hit ‘Baba Lao, with the lyrics tweaked
a little in praise of Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua, such that he
sang; "Martha Mama Lao, Raila Baba Lao…"
Diamond also gave a short speech in front of Odinga, during which he publicly endorsed the Azimio frontman's presidential candidature and asked Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and
vote for him.
“Baba, nataka nikuambie vijana
wanakuamini sana, nchi inakuamini sana na wewe ndio rais wetu unayefuata,” said
the singer.
Diamond
had earlier hinted that he was headed to Kenya, but did not disclose where he
exactly he would be performing at.
The ‘Jeje’ hitmaker, who had just returned from South Africa where he had been celebrating his daughter Princess Tiffah’s birthday, posted a photo with her while boarding a plane and captioned it; "Nairobi in a second…"
