The colourful day was basically a celebration of Kenyan fashion which also provided a rare platform for clients to experience the magic of the Kenyan fashion designers in the flesh as well as an opportunity to network, kick back and relax.
The event, which was in its second edition, roped in over 30 top Kenyan designers and brands including Peni Mbili, Sheer Poise, Qikwetu, Molivian, Dhana Vito and Anchor Leather.
Other brands that were featured included The Craftprenuer, Kokio Label, Fashion Focus and The Nuralains.
As customers shopped all day and marvelled at countless unique designs, made and conjured right here in Kenya, children got treated to free swimming sessions as adults networked, bantered and sipped cocktails.
"SANAA market offers consumers an opportunity to find all their favourite Kenyan designers in the same place and at the same time discover other new designers in the market," said Connie.
"Designers have a chance to reach new customers and increase their revenues through this rare and very powerful platform."
SANAA, a partnership between Movenpick and Connie Alu, birthed to promote the Creative Economy, attracted some big names in the media, entertainment and fashion world.
Corporate guru Deborah Mallowah and Chinelo Ndego, VP of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Kenya, were some notable names in attendance.
"The pop-up is growing! The next edition will be much bigger and better and we hope this can help propel fashion to greater heights and even grow beyond Kenya, " Connie added.
