Mejja revealed to Radio Citizen's Willy M Tuva that he was recently diagnosed with a throat condition and has been advised to refrain from singing until he has recovered.
“I have been having issues with my throat , when I was in Australia i had a flu and could not get access to medicine and I was performing everyday. When I came back the pain was on and off even after taking over the counter drugs," Meja said.
The 'utawezana' hitmaker went to reveal that earlier in the year, he noticed blood in his sputum, prompting him to seek specialized medical care.
He told Willy M Tuva that the unexplained condition has made it impossible to hit the high pitch because his voice cracks.
He revealed that he is still able to record songs- albeit those with a low pitch.
"Naambia mafans waniombee sababu inaniaffect psycholigically, one day niko na sauti and the next siwezi kuongea," He said.
At the same time, he advised fans to keep hydrated, and to avoid sugary things if they want to keep a problematic throat at bay.
“my fans please pray for me, sitaki kuacha muziki, also remember to drink lots of water and avoid sugary things to avoid finding yourself this situation”.
To arrest the situation, Mejja revelead that he is undergoing a voice hygiene therapy
