Kenyans praise Yvonne Okwara after Presidential debate

Citizen TV news anchor and Business Editor Yvonne Okwara Matole has received praise from Kenyans on social media after a stellar performance during the 2022 Presidential debate.

She has been praised for holding the Presidential candidate responsible for his roles as a deputy President in the Jubilee Government.

Yvonne also held him accountable for his words during the debate, where there was contradictions between his stand on different issues.

The debate showed that the journalists had also researched and were well informed with the topical issues they engaged William Ruto in.

Yvonne and Latiff were moderators of the 2nd tier of the Presidential Debate which was meant to involve William Ruto and Raila Odinga.

However, the latter failed to attend the debate, giving the panelists an opportunity to engage the Deputy President for 1 hr 30 minutes.

Before Ruto took to the stage, NTV’s Smriti Vidyarthi and KTN’s Ken Mijungu had engaged Presidential candidate Waihiga Mwaure in discussions on his plans for the country should he succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.

Similarly, the 1st tier was to see Agano Party’s Waihiga Mwaure and Roots Party’s Prof. George Wajackoyah, but the latter boycotted the debate.
