King Kaka's new film 'Kamtupe' goes Hollywood

Multiple-award
winning rapper King Kaka’s new film ‘Kamtupe’ has landed in Hollywood and is
set to be screened in Los Angeles, U.S.
The
film, according to a statement sent to newsrooms by Kenya’s Consul General in
Los Angeles Big Ted, will be screened at ‘The Comedy Nook’ located on 7456 Melrose
Avenue, West Hollywood, on October 27, 2022 at 7pm American time.
‘Kamtupe’, directed and written by
King Kaka, real name Kennedy Ombima, is set in Nairobi and tells the story of a
government worker who is robbed of his laptop when he ventures into a rough
neighborhood to locate a relative.
As fate would have it, however, the
laptop holds crucial State information that, if leaked, could plunge the
country into a civil war.
The crime thriller features big names in the Kenyan
film industry such as renowned actor Jimmi Gathu, who is the film’s
protagonist, and leading media personality Jeff Koinange, who is assigned
voice-over duties.
Other well-known personalities featured in the film
include musician Femi One and YouTuber Stanley Obienji, as well as Brendah
Jons, Kelvin Musili, Vincent Otieno, Joyce Maina, Zack Matasi and Fidel
Maithya.
The movie soundtrack includes songs from artists
such as Otile Brown alongside Kaka Empire signees Femi One, Kanambo Dede,
Mbithi and Jadi.
