Musicians light up Kasarani stadium during Ruto Inauguration

Local musicians were on hand to lighten up the mood and activity at Kasarani Stadium during the inauguration of President William Ruto. 

Kenyan Comedian Chipukeezy led the way acting as the Master of Ceremony of the event. The songs to be performed were limited to only six from all the artists drawn from all the regions of Kenya.

The first song to be performed was “Usikiaye maombi” by Florence Mureithi thanking God for answering the prayers of Kenyans.

The second song was directed to Kenyans to celebrate their hard work and embrace unity in order for the country to move forward. The song was performed by gospel artist Guardian Angel.

The third song was “Furahia leo” by Sanaipei Tande, Nadia Mukami accompanied by her lover Arrow boy, and Bridgit Kioko. 

The fourth song was titled “Mungu Abariki Kenya” by Ruth Matete and her team, a thanksgiving song that celebrates the country, leadership, patriotism, and prayer for Kenya.

The fifth song was “Twasema Asante” and was kicked off by Gusii star Fenny Kerubo, Anastacia Mukabwa, Solomon Mukubwa, Karwirwa Laura, among others...a patriotic and thanksgiving song to thank Kenyans for a peaceful election, giving Kenya a new president and other leaders.

The last song to be performed was “Nimeuona Mkono wa Bwana” by Zablon singers from Tanzania. Chipukeezy termed this song as President Ruto’s favourite song.

The artistes had similar messages in their songs congratulating President Ruto and urging Kenyans to remain peaceful.

Alongside the artistes were black and white dressed dancers to entertain the chief guests after the swearing-in process.

The inauguration of the President took place at Kasarani Stadium where several Heads of State and dignitaries were in attendance to witness the swearing-in of Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
