Singer Nikita Kering to lead Fenty beauty campaign in Kenya

Kenyan songstress Nikita Chepchumba Kering has announced that she will lead a national campaign for global cosmetic brand Fenty Beauty, which will begin on Friday, May 27.

The 'Ex' hitmaker announced the news on her Twitter account on Wednesday, expressing her gratitude for the coveted role.

"KENYA!🇰🇪 It's Happening! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are gonna be here this Friday the 27th. I'm so glad to be heading this campaign in Kenya while Rocking my Fenty Favs," she wrote.

The 20-year-old shot to fame in her early teens and has steadily risen to become one of Kenya's most formidable musical powerhouses.

Her stand-out talent and music has seen her bag the coveted ‘Female Video of the Year’ (for Ex) award at the 2022 Pulse Music Video Awards.

She also won the ‘Best Female Artist’ at the Afrimma Awards in 2019 and the ‘Best New Artist’ at the Pulse Music Video Award in 2018.

Meanwhile, Fenty's owner, singer-turned-fashion mogul Rihanna, has announced that Kenya will be among a number of African countries to receive supplies of her 'Fenty Beauty' and 'Fenty Skin' products.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment!! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are finally dropping in AFRICA!!! Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe...we comin at ya May 27th and that’s just the beginning!!! #FentyAfrica,” she wrote on May 10.

Forbes magazine declared the 33-year-old pop star a billionaire last year, estimating her net worth at $1.7 billion (approx. Ksh.197 billion) at the time, making her the wealthiest female musician and the second-richest woman in entertainment behind Oprah Winfrey.

Forbes then estimated that Fenty Beauty alone was worth $2.8 billion (approximately Ksh.324 billion).
