Kenyan songstress Jovial now says she has
decided to shelve all requests for music features and collaborations and focus
on her solo career for a while.
Jovial, taking to her Instagram stories,
revealed that she had arrived at this decision in spite of the many requests
for collaborations that she has been receiving of late.
Speaking on the back of a new release with
Mr. Seed, Jovial revealed that any songs featuring her or collaborations that drop within the next few days were done last year.
She further expressed gratitude to the
artists she has been privileged to work with in the past, acknowledging that she learnt a
lot from them in the process.
She however also intimated that she may have
received some backlash from critics over the decision to not release collabos
any more.
“No more collabos featuring me. Zitakazo toka
ni za mwaka jana na nilizoshirikisha wasanii. Nashkuru we’ve learnt a lot from
each other,” she wrote.
“If you never got a chance to work with me…
You never know though, sitaki kuongea nikamaliza…Ila kwa sasa mnisamehe…”
She added: “Requests ni nyingi lakini samahani sio kwa sasa…Matusi yenu nayaona juu ya stoy ya collabos! Mjikaze tu! Maisha ni kujikaza!”
