Rapper Megan Thee Stallion sued by former cameraman, accused of sexual harassment
According to documents obtained by the US media, the cameraman claims he was once trapped inside a moving vehicle with the 'Hiss' artist while she engaged in sexual activity with another woman.
He is now suing the hip-hop star for harassment and a hostile work environment.
In or around June 2022, the court documents state, Garcia was traveling on tour with the hip-hop star in Ibiza, Spain.
After a night out, both individuals and three other women were riding in an SUV together when "suddenly Stallion and one other woman start[ed] having sex right beside Garcia," the docs state.
Garcia "could not get out of the car as it was both moving, and he was in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country."
Garcia claims he was "embarrassed, mortified, and offended throughout the whole ordeal."
The next day, Garcia claims Megan Thee Stallion told him "Don't ever discuss what you saw" before she "berated and directed her fat-shaming comments towards Garcia, such as 'Fat B-tch.'"
In an interview with NBC News published Tuesday, Garcia said he "felt uncomfortable" and "was kind of frozen" and "shocked" during the alleged incident in the car, adding that he couldn't believe the "audacity to do this right, right beside me."
He also said he felt "degraded" by the rapper's alleged fat-shaming remarks and was surprised to hear them coming from "someone who advocates about loving your body."
A lawyer for Megan Thee Stallion said in a statement to USA TODAY Tuesday evening that the lawsuit is "an employment claim for money − with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her."
"We will deal with this in court," attorney Alex Spiro added.
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday, April 23 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
According to the court documents, Emilio Garcia began working for Megan Thee Stallion in 2018 and quit his other job in 2019 to work with the rapper full-time. He worked for her until June 2023, as per the lawsuit.
