Reality TV producer Eugene Mbugua, Sarah Hassan nominated for continental award

Docu-reality producer Eugene Mbugua, actresses Sarah Hassan and Mumbi Maina are among Kenyans nominated in this year’s Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Eugene Mbugua was nominated under the ‘Best Documentary’ category for his ‘This Love’ reality TV show that chronicles the lives of Kenyan celebrity couple Nameless and Wahu.

He will battle it out with Taiwo Adeyemi [Road2Blow], Femi Odugbemi [Unmasked: Leadership, Trust And The COVID-19 Pandemic In Nigeria], Allen Onyige [Sunset In Makoko], Lawrence Adejumo [Streets Of Lagos: Dear Little People].

Sarah Hassan was nominated in the ‘Best Actress in a Comedy’ (Movie/TV Series)’ category for her role in the popular film ‘Just in Time,’ which has since been picked up by a global streaming giant.

‘Just in Time’ - which was written, directed and co-produced by Nigerian filmmaker Dolapo Adeleke - received six nods overall, including ‘Best Movie (East Africa).

Mumbi Maina was nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her role in ‘La Femme Anjola.’
