Sauti Sol's Savara opens up on regrets following release of first solo album
Delvin Mudigi, popularly known as Savara, of award-winning Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol has come out to speak of his
regrets following the release of his first solo album dubbed ‘Savage Level.’
Speaking during the launch of Shahara
platform at the Baraza Media Lab on Thursday, Savara expressed his challenges saying
it was a new experience since he was previously used to dealing with wins and
losses collectively as a group.
“When you release an album as a group, you
share the challenges, profits, ideologies and everything. You also have a team
that is handling that,” he said.
He went ahead to express his regrets because
of how the international music streaming platforms onto which he released the album have reportedly been
treating him and handling his craft.
“Me doing that album and now the album is out
on all platforms, the way those platforms are treating me, I regret it and I am
being sincere here. I regret putting that album on those platforms because of
what the album means to me, quality control and generally the whole process,”
he said.
‘Savage Level’ is a 14-track album that officially
dropped on February 25, 2022 after on the heels of bangers ‘Balance’ and ‘Kill ‘em
Everyday.’
The album covers different thematic areas
including anxiety, love, consciousness, awakening, excellence and growth. It
has also featured on the top 3 list on Apple music.
