Sauti Sol's much-anticipated event SolFest has changed venues at the last minute over what the management says is a security concern for attendees.

In a press release on Monday evening, the SolFest management said the event, slated for December 17, 2022, will no longer be held at the original venue of Fox Drive-In, Thika road and will instead move to the Central Business District and will be hosted at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC).

"Following consultation with our security service providers, who have also consulted with various security agencies, it was established that the areas surrounding the previous location of choice for SolFest (Fox Drive-In, Thick Road), has had a significant increase in criminal activity over the recent months," read a statement from SolFest management.

The award-winning boyband said the choice of KICC was in keeping with their security standards and ensuring that the location is fit for all stakeholders.

"We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the wonderful team at Fox Drive-In, a quintessentially Kenyan venue, and the supporting stakeholders for their partnership," they said.
