Radio presenter Stephen Maunda colloquially known as Shatta Bway has announced his exit from Radio Citizen after a 5-year run of presenting on the WaksTikiTaka show.

During his last show on Monday, he expressed gratitude to the show's fans for their immense love and support through the 5-year journey.

“Thank you very much for becoming our family. You have stood by us with every corner we took. You have made us number one for those five years and we don't take it for granted,” he said.

“Your support has been amazing. When we call you to an event you show up.”

Shatta stated that his decision to leave Radio Citizen was cemented a month ago and has since been deliberating on when to make his final exit.

"In every family, there is a time when the bird must leave the nest and go fend. I have gotten another opportunity to grow in a different field," he said.

He also thanked his fellow presenters, and producers for their support throughout his media journey. He singled out Royal Media Services ICT & Radio Director Fred Afune, Vincent Kimani, Vincent Ateya and Jeridah Andayi.

Shatta said that he will disclose the details of his next assignment on his social media pages.
