BIG Talent Entertainment are in mourning after one of the Ghetto Kids dancers in the famous Sitya Loss award-winning video died on Monday, November 30.

Singer Eddy Kenzo confirmed Alex Ssempijja, 14 from Katwe, died Monday night after a bicycle accident in Kampala.

Ssempijja’s dancing featured in Eddy Kenzo’s music videos Mundeke Numbe, Sitya Loss, Jambole, Zivuga and So Good.

According to a statement from BIG TALENT obtained by Uganda’s New Vision, Alex “succumbed to injuries after a serious bicycle accident.”

Besides winning global fans’ hearts the Sitya Loss video won Kenzo and Uganda a BET award 2015.

“Alex has gone to be with the Lord. He passed on this evening in an accident. He featured in Sitya Loss and so good videos. Rest in eternal peace young soldier,” Eddy Kenzo posted on Facebook Monday night.

Anne Whitehead of Whitehead Communications, one of the first to break the news, divulged more details about Alex’s demise.

“It was not a boda boda. No, bicycle on a hill, breaks failed and fell into a ditch. This is the second kid I’ve heard of in a week getting in a serious accident while playing with a bicycle and falling into a road-side trench,” she said.

Alex was with fellow dancer Patience Nabakooza, 12.

Nabakooza was rushed to Case Clinic in Kampala, Uganda where she is recuperating after being admitted at the intensive care unit.

The two were playing after completing class 7 exams.
