Kenyan artist collective The Nest has announced its latest film ‘The More Things Change’ (TMTC).

Starring Nyawara Ndambia, best known for her role as Mwix in the 2018 drama 'Supa Modo', the film also features Melvin Alusa from 'The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind', Emmanuel Mugo from 'Sense8', Bryan Ngartia from the stage play 'Too Early For Birds' and the young sensation Stycie Waweru, who has also appeared in The Nest’s 'Supa Modo' and 'Lusala'.

The film is co-directed by Akati Khasiani and Mars Maasai.

The collective blurbs TMTC as a fiction anthology feature film looking back into Kenya’s political past, and then exploring the present, as well as imagining an exciting potential speculative future, to explore resistance by individuals and communities.

TMTC is set to premiere at the NBO Film Festival on Friday, November 12, after which it will be made available for free viewing on The Nest Collective’s YouTube Channel on Wednesday, November 17.

“We’re really happy to be so close to the release, after many months of work from so many talented people. We can’t wait to see how folks will react!” said Njeri Gitungo, the Nest’s head producer.

Founded in 2012, the Nest Collective has created works in film, music, fashion, visual arts and literature.

Its 2014 anthology film Stories of Our Lives was a critical darling and has so far screened in over 80 countries.
