Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya and President Ruto's brief encounter left the President's entourage in cackles after the duo shared light exchanges centred on Salasya's signature look.

The President was greeting leaders upon arriving in Kakamega to open the Kakamega County International Investment Conference when he mingled with the normally-animated Salasya.

Among members of the National Assembly and Senate who had lined up to welcome the President to the county was Salasya who left everyone roaring in laughter when his turn to be greeted came.

As the President extended his hand to greet the visibility excited legislator, Salasya appeared to be ready to put on a show - staring directly at the cameras.

While maintaining a firm handshake, the President sought to know how Salaysa was fairing as he looked him up.

"Mbona hujachanua nywele?" Ruto then asked, gesturing at Salaysa's head.

"Ukisema nitachanua," the controversial MP replied, as the entire entourage burst into laughter.

The youthful first-time MP is known for having an unkempt hairstyle.

He has also become notorious for various public altercations and controversial social media pronouncements which he normally records while lounging at his home.

The President officially opened the Kakamega County International Investment Conference on Wednesday.

The four-day forum will see Governor  Fernandes Barasa-led county sign memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with various investors.

The event at the Masinde Muliro University is themed ‘Opening up Counties as the New Frontiers for Investment and Development'.
