Why Hillary Clinton, like most of us, wants to be Beyoncé

Presidential hopeful and Ex-FLOTUS, Hillary Clinton, has taken her presidential campaigns a notch higher by saying that she wants to be the Beyoncé of the White House.

During an interview on Wednesday at a town hall meeting in Iowa, she was asked whether she would rather become president or be Beyoncé.

“I’d rather be president because I can’t sing.” She said.  “Nobody would pay to see me sing or dance. Even when I was a lot younger, that just wasn’t in the cards for me.”

Beyoncé has always been known for her hard work, ambition and musical success and most recently for being the modern feminist-no wonder  Hillary Clinton is inspired.

The former secretary of state was also filled with praises for the 34-year-old diva.

“You see her on TV, it’s impressive. You see her in person, you’re just stunned thinking like, how does she do that? Really. I mean, she’s singing, she’s up and she’s down. She’s just amazing,” she said.

“I want to be as good a president as Beyoncé is a performer,” she added.

Her comments were met with laughter from voters, many of them University of Iowa students taking a break from studying for finals in order to attend her town hall.

In May, Beyoncé reportedly supported Hillary Clinton by attending her fundraiser event in New York City.

Other high-profile attendees included Sharon Osbourne, Meghan Trainor and Epic Records CEO LA Reid, who hosted the event.

Each attendee was expected to give $2,700(Ksh.276 Million), leaving Clinton with some $1.1. Million (Ksh.112 Million).

Beyoncé and her rapper and mogul husband Jay Z are also friends with President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Beyoncé has stated before that she is personally inspired by US First Lady Michelle Obama, says, “She proves you can do it all.”

Beyoncé and Jay Z also held a fundraiser at the latter’s 40/40 Club in Manhattan for Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign, which raised $4 million (Ksh. 409Million)

She also performed the American national anthem at his second inauguration, singing along with a pre-recorded track.

Clinton has continued to build support in Iowa. A Des Moines Register/Bloomberg poll released this week shows her up 9 points over her biggest rival for the nomination, Sen. Bernie Sanders.
