Why President Uhuru Kenyatta is the best Morgan Heritage

The Extravaganza show, which went down Saturday night at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, saw the Heritage family – comprising of Gramps, Mojo, Peetah and Jemere Morgan – shower praises on President Uhuru Kenyatta for his leadership.

During their performance, Peetah and Gramps said they admire Kenyatta’s style of governance, terming him youthful and liberal.

They also added that the Kenyan President is very popular in their native Jamaica.

“If there’s one leader we salute in Jamaica is Jomo Kenyatta. We salute his son, Uhuru Kenyatta who is the President of the Republic of Kenya,” Peetah Morgan said.

“Uhuru Kenyatta is changing politics of the world – people are now looking at Kenya because of him,” he added amid cheers from the crowd.

Peetah put under spotlight the world leaders who are sticking to being state administrators despite age not favouring them, adding that Kenyatta, unlike them (elderly leaders), fits the position because he connects and resonates with the citizenry – who are predominantly the youth.

“For years politicians, Presidents and Prime Ministers who are 70, 80, 85 years old have clang on to power. What does a 70-year-old have in common with a 20-year-old or a 30-year-old? Nearly nothing!” Peetah said.

Adding: “The children and the youth are the future of the world. So we want to see people who resemble us (youth) in these places of power!”

“This is why I love the President of Kenya, and why we are in love with him the more, is because he is the son to the founding father of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta. Give it up for President Kenyatta!” Peetah said, and immediately the crowd burst into shouts and chants of approval.

Peetah Morgan, however, urged President Kenyatta not to give in to ill advice and resort to ruling with an iron fist.

“We are all here (Kenya) to share with Mr President (Uhuru) one word; do not command your children with the whistle,” Peetah Morgan told.

Gramps Morgan said they have toured the world, and there’s only one place he says comes second to his native Jamaica – Kenya.

He further urged President Kenyatta to treat them as secondary citizens of Kenya and grant them free movement into the country.

Gramps also said that the Morgan family would love to stay longer in the country despite their passports expiring Sunday.

“We should stay for one or two more weeks. You think I am joking, aren’t you? I am talking for real; my passport is in the parking there. So Kenya if you want the Morgan’s to stay for one more day, two more days, three more days or four more days, or five more days talk to the President,” Gramps said.

Peetah Morgan again noted something: “Kenyan women are some of the most beautiful women in the world!”

He repeatedly said this on stage, affirming his observation; sending the female crowd into a tizzy.

The Morgan Heritage Extravaganza was a massive success, with the group performing their feted hits for more than two hours.

The Extravaganza was partly sponsored by Citizen TV and Hot 96 FM.
