8 out of every 100 maternal deaths are due to poor hygiene –Report

Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu and first lady Margaret Kenyatta have regretted the increase in the number of maternal deaths attributed to poor hygiene.

Mailu says 8 out of every 100 maternal deaths are due to poor hygiene and sanitation. But as Leah Ngari reports, there are many other causes of maternal deaths including high blood pressure related complications that continue to raise equal concern.
