Huddah Monroe: I acted as ‘Kayai’ in Vitimbi

Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe has surprised many after she claimed that she played the role of Kayai, the ‘daughter’ of the late Mzee Ojwang’ and Mama Kayai in the TV drama, Vitimbi.

Huddah added she used to earn Sh500 for the role which she acted when she was 16.

The ‘Bosslady’ took to her official Instagram page on Monday to pay tribute to the fallen veteran actor and made the rather baffling ‘revelation’.

This revelation drew a number of ‘doubting Thomases’ among fans who quickly questioned the truth value of her post.

Mumbiliz: We all must have been watching the pirated version of Vitimbi.

Gillie_b: Huddah, you are so creative. You noted that we rarely if not hardly saw Kayai on the screens. You have seen an opportunity to be one, and so you pounced.

Silantoi_naserian_koikai: Huddah you are not serious. I wonder why you did not go to see him in the hospital.

Naenci: Just curious: Which year was that? Had I stopped watching Vitimbi? I cannot remember seeing you on the screens.

However, some section of fans chose to believe Huddah, despite none of them recollecting having seen her face on the show:

Stellas_trendy_boutique: Gosh, you were Kayai? You have every reason to be successful.

Kenishamaggie: Respect to you, girl. If you started hustling at 16, then you deserve a good life.

In the Vitimbi drama show which aired on national broadcaster KBC in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Mzee Ojwang acted as the husband of Mama Kayai (Mary Khavere).

However, their ‘daughter’, Kayai, did not feature on the show for a better part of it, making it easy to understand why many doubt Huddah.

Mzee Ojwang’ succumbed to pneumonia at Kenyatta National Hospital on Sunday night.

People from all walks of life, including President Kenyatta and CORD leader, Raila Odinga,A paid tribute to the legendary screen icon terming him a devoted citizen who brought change to viewers through his acting.
