I am looking for a Kenyan woman, Ugandan artist Navio reveals

Top Ugandan artiste, Navio has revealed he is single and is searching for a partner-preferably from Kenya.

Speaking exclusively to Citizen Digital on Thursday at the Nairobi-based Coke Studio, the award winning artiste confessed he finds Kenyan women very attractive.

“Kenyan women are very beautiful, and I think I should marry one from the place I was born. I already have the ring (lifts silver ring in the air), I am looking for a special Kenyan lady,” said the six-foot tall singer.

Navio, whose real name is Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, was born and raised in Kenya for 11 years before his family relocated to Uganda.

“I was born in Kenya and went to school here for 11 years. It is like home to me, I always feel so welcomed,” he said.

The 31-year-old studied in St. Andrews and later on attended Aga Khan Secondary school in Uganda.

He also revealed he misses the go-getter attitude of Kenyans, “I miss the aggression of people in Nairobi. It is nice to be at a place where the corporate world and people take their jobs seriously. In Uganda we take our jobs seriously too, but Kenyans always strive for perfection.”

Coke Studio Africa Season 3

Navio has been paired with Mozambique’s celebrated RnB artiste, GN2, in the Coke Studio Africa Season 3 recording, which he said he has really been looking forward to.

“Coke studio recording is like a family or unit that wants to put the best product out there. That’s is something I can always brag of-if they call me, I will come back any time,” said the artiste.

“I feel great to be paired with the talented GN2; he is the king of Mozambique. Hip-Hop and RnB being like cousins, I hope to create something good with him,” added Navio.

The singer has applauded Coke Studio Africa project terming it a game-changer in the music industry, “Coke Studio project has shown we can cross borders, go into other territories, and have our music appreciated in other parts of the world. It gives the platform to show that East Africa has talent.”
