I’m not ‘interested in marrying Ray C’ – Ringtone

Gospel singer Alex Apoko famously known as Ringtone now says he wants to befriend Tanzanian veteran artiste Ray C but not to marry her.

This comes after reports emerged online that he was eyeing the sassy diva.

Ringtone says the reason he wants to reach out to Ray C, born Rehema Chalamila, is because God spoke to him to offer life advice to the Tanzanian singer.

“I want to be Ray C’s friend; to me she is like Pamela who has returned to God’s ways. I am really looking for her number so that we can sit and talk.”

The singer (Ringtone) had earlier taken to Instagram to post a message which spawned speculations among his followers and other social media users that he wanted to marry the Mama Nitilie singer.

“Attention: I hear Ray C is born again, and that she is searching for a husband. God is speaking to me. Kindly if you have her number send it to me and God will greatly bless you,” read his post.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the Pamela star clarified he currently has no intentions of marrying Ray C; but said the friendship might lead to ‘something’ if God plans so.

“When I said God has spoken to me, I did not mean he hinted at me to marry Ray C. Those are people’s speculations.”

“However, you never know God’s plans,” he said.

Asked on the particular advice he would like to offer Rehema, Ringtone said: “I really want to help her in worship; read her a scripture and advise her. God also asked me to pray for her to get a deserving husband.”

“I would not mind buying her coffee so that we talk over the matter. I can even travel to Tanzania to meet with her,” he added.

He further says that he plans to bring Ray C on board to his anti-drug campaign which targets the youth and teenagers in secondary schools and colleges.

“I have loved Ray C’s transition and would also like to incorporate her in my project of reaching out to the youth to sensitize them on drugs and substance abuse.”

Ray C is an ex-drug addict who is currently running a drugs-free foundation in Tanzania.

Ringtone did not shy off from opening up about his relationship status, revealing he is single and that he is optimistic God would bless him with a good wife.

Ray C had in early July taken to Instagram to post ten qualities of the man she would want for a husband. She received hundreds of applications from interested men, but later came out to clarify she was only mocking her Instagram followers.
