Man sues wife after seeing her without makeup

An Algerian man sued his wife after he saw her without make up the morning after their wedding, reports Emirates 24/7.

The groom was so shocked at the sight of his bride that he failed to recognise her, accusing her of being a burglar.

After realising it was in fact the ‘beautiful’ woman he had married the previous day, he decided to take her to court – accusing her of inflicting ‘psychological suffering’ by ‘cheating’ him with her make-up.

He reportedly told an Algiers court that up until their wedding day, the woman always looked very beautiful and attractive.

Emirates 24/7 reports: ‘He said he was deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with make up before their marriage,’ the papers said, quoting a court source.

‘He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief.

The groom is now seeking Ksh2 million ($20,000).
