Nigerian singer Davido skives Coke Studio Recording

Nigerian wonder boy Davido has got tongues wagging again and for all the wrong reasons.  The ‘Aye’ hit maker was due in Nairobi for a Coke Studio recording, but he has skived the session leaving the production team high and dry.

The 22-year-old star was to have been paired up with award winning boy band Sauti Sol for the much anticipated live recording, but his absence has paralyzed the production schedule.

This is not the first time that Davido has disappointed Kenyan fans. In March he made headlines for giving a half-hearted performance at Carnivore. Fans, who paid a 2500 a pop for arena tickets and 4000 for VIP, left the venue a disappointed lot after he performed for less than 30 minutes.

Angry fans resorted to roasting Davido online, and this prompted a debate about his level of professionalism. So heated was the online debate that even Nigeria blogs picked it up. Some online sources have claimed that these ferocious online attacks are the reason Davido was a no-show.
