Six Kenyan films you can stream on Netflix

The sheer volume of films on
Netflix has not left behind the Kenyan arts and movie industry.
Citizen Digital now
looks at some Kenyan productions available on the streaming giant, that is, movies
and TV shows ranging from comedy, drama, romance, thrillers and so much more.
This is a comedy film centered around
a small-time thug recently been released from prison.
The charming con continues his deceptive ways pretending to be a successful man. He tries hiding his past in order to marry the woman of his dreams, who is a preacher’s daughter.
2. DISCONNECT (2018)
Disconnect is a romantic comedy
film starring the ever lovely Brenda Wairimu and hunk Nick Mutuma as the main
cast.
The storyline is about a group of singletons stumbling through the wild dating scene in Nairobi, as two friends wonder if their relationship is more than platonic.
3. POACHER (2018)
Poacher is crime, thriller and
social issue-based short film directed by Tom Whitworth, starring Brian Ogola
and Davina Leonard.
It tells the story of a daring
farmer who runs into trouble after stealing illicit ivory from a group of
international terrorists and must now elude them in order to survive.
The film seeks to highlight the significant international issue of illegal ivory trade by addressing the plight of Africa's endangered elephant population.
4. 40 STICKS (2019)
Starring Robert Ageng’o, this is
a suspenseful thriller film produced by Sense Play production house.
It revolves around the story of a
group of death row prisoners who are trapped in a prison bus that crashes in a
forest on a rainy night.
Their misery is worsened as they battle wild animals and a mysterious killer who lurks in the shadows.
5. JUST IN TIME (2020)
This movie is a feel good, comedy-drama
starring Sarah Hassan and Stycie Waweru.
The film is about how life changes for a bookstore clerk when she finds herself taking care of her cousin’s witty 11-year-old daughter.
6. SINCERELY DAISY (2020)
Starring Ellah Maina and Sam
Psenjen, this is an emotional teen-drama film produced and directed by popular
actor, Nick Mutuma.
The plot is around the life of a happy high school graduate whose dreams, expectations, passion and confidence are shaken when family and relationship drama put her plans for the future in doubt.
