11 Dead In Nakuru-Eldoret Highway Accident

The early morning accident took place at Kware on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

The accident involved a trailer which was transporting metal rods and a North Rift Shuttle that was heading to Nairobi from Eldoret.

According to Koibatek Deputy County Commissioner Samson Irungu Macharia, the matatu had 11 passengers on board and it is suspected that the trailer was speeding.

The lorry driver and his turn boy escaped immediately after the accident while a man who had hiked a lift escaped with minor injuries.

Police have so far removed the bodies from the wreckage and the casualties taken to Ravine Hospital.

The deceased have been taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

Road accidents have been rampant on the Kenyan roads with many people losing their lives and others sustaining permanent injuries.
