12 hospitalised after gas explosion at a Nyeri hotel

Twelve people were left nursing burn injuries after a fire broke out at a hotel at Mudavadi market in Nyeri County.

The twelve were admitted to the Nyeri County Referral Hospital, two of them in critical condition. The inferno is said to have been caused by a gas explosion.

The County Executive in charge of Health, Dr. Rachael Kamau said two of the 12 victims had been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital.

According to Dr. Kamau, the remaining 10 victims were admitted in the general wards with severe and superficial burns.
