13 laptops for Matare Primary School pupils stolen, suspects arrested

Two suspects linked to the theft of 13 laptops from Matare primary school in Kuria East, Migori County have been arrested.

David Matiku and Daudi Marwa allegedly made away with the laptops on September 30.

They are expected to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

Migori County police commander Joseph Nthenge said only 7 of the stolen laptops have been recovered so far.

Meanwhile, investigations into the theft of 23 laptops from Yago Primary School in Awendo Sub County are ongoing.

7 students were arrested in connection to the incident and are expected to be charged in court.

Nthenge says they have recovered 11 laptops.

The county police boss has advised schools to improve security in the schools to avoid the theft of laptops that are meant for digital literacy program.
