190 COVID-19 protocol breakers were arrested in Nairobi on Thursday: report

A total of 190 COVID-19 protocols violators were arrested on Thursday at various places within the Nairobi region.

Nairobi Regional Commissioner James Kianda said some suspects were arrested in pubs while others had not worn their masks as required.

The protocol breakers were however released on police bond pending their arraignment in court on Tuesday.

At the same time, Commissioner Kianda appealed to city residents who will be spending their Easter weeekend at a various parks within the city to observe COVID-19 protocols issued by the Ministry of Health.

The protocols include washing of hands with soap and water or using alcohol based sanitisers, wearing of face masks and social distancing.

At the same time, he warned that security officers are on the lookout and have set measures in place to nab those attempting to sneak in and out of Nairobi during the lock down.
