2 children die after matatu rams into lorry on Nairobi-Mombasa highway

Two children have died on the spot while several other passengers have sustained serious injuries after the 14-seater matatu they were traveling in rammed into a trailer.
The accident occured on Sunday along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway at Vista near Maanzoni area in Athi River.
According to Machakos County police boss Issa Mahomoud, the driver of the Mombasa-bound matatu lost control of the vehicle due to overspeeding, tossing it into the rear of the lorry.
The injured have been rushed to Machakos Level V Hospital in Machakos town.
